According to research by Teletext Holidays, a whopping 33% of British travellers cannot go on holiday without taking their much-loved tea bags with them! But what other home comforts do we bring with us to the beach?
Squashing sandals into an over packed suitcase, packing our favourite food brands into our holdalls and arriving painfully early at the airport are just a few of our most popular holiday habits.
To celebrate Britain’s much loved habits we want you to share yours and capture it on camera.
So, in order to gain a better understanding of what creature comforts we take to the coast, we asked over 1,000 happy holidaymakers to share their __travel traits with us and the results were oh so brilliantly British. We found out that a healthy dose of our habits actually happen before we arrive on holiday, with 36% of us confessing to over packing, 33% unable to __travel without taking a serious stash of PG Tips and over 51% of us sweating over a last minute spring clean before setting off to the airport unbelievably early – just in case, right?
Once on the beach or by the pool, the holiday habits continue. First on our list of must-dos is feasting on a typically British brekkie with 34% of us ordering a Full English, while 24% of us keep an eye on the weather back home (mainly so we can boast about the blistering heat we’re enjoying abroad!) and almost 40% of us make a habit of catching up on the news. Sneaking buffet bread rolls into our bags for lunch, leaving the beach for the sports bar to watch ourn fave teams and wearing wonderfully colourful clothes we would never consider at home also topped the charts.
If you have an interesting holiday habit or feel you have what it takes to set the next British travel trend, capture it on camera and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a luxury break to sunny St. Lucia!
